The word Saju means “four pillars.” Each pillar has two symbols, giving the chart eight characters in total. This shared East Asian tradition is also associated with the Chinese term Bazi. In Korea, it is part of a living culture of readings and reflection.

Why meet Saju through Korean culture?
In Korea, people may consult Saju around the new year or explore compatibility, called gunghap. Saju cafés also offer visitors a way to experience this tradition. The Korea Tourism Organization has featured these cafés in its Hallyu travel content.

A sun-sign horoscope groups people by their sun sign. Saju builds a chart from four parts of your birth time. It does not use the same method as Western astrology, though “Korean astrology” can be a useful starting phrase for English-speaking newcomers.
What is Korean compatibility?
Gunghap brings two charts into a conversation about relationships. In Moonlight, use compatibility to reflect on similarities and differences. A reading cannot decide whether a relationship will succeed.
Do I need my exact birth time?
An accurate time helps complete the hour pillar. If you do not know it, choose the unknown-time option in Moonlight. Moonlight estimates the hour pillar from noon and marks it as uncertain. Interpretations that depend on the hour need extra caution.
